Digital Security Cameras

Notice how our PC’s digital camera enabled us to communicate at a distant? Digital security cameras are purposely made for you to keep an eye remotely what concerns you most. This idea alone is enough for us to install digital security cameras having this capability in our home, apartment, and business centers.

One of the downside of analog surveillance cameras is that they don’t provide you with the real-time security which everyone deserves. Analog security cameras, to give you a little hawk view, still works but with some limitations. This type of security camera (e.g. CCTV systems) is ideal only if the controller is within the protected area. Analog security cameras actually work this way: position the lens, start the recording of images or videos and have the analog signals broadcast to multi-screen analog monitors on the same area…and that’s it, you’re now ready to store the recorded images or videos to specialized tapes. This method of tracking out events doesn’t just causes you hassle but also provide you no real-time security since you have to personally get into the controller room and watch people come and go (this is common to malls). Digital security cameras however perform quite better. They are sophistically designed to serve the optimum protection of you and your valuables. It should be clear that digital cameras are still cameras but with some exceptions – it has the capability to forward digital files (images or videos) over the network. The internet has always been the catalyst of major innovations leading to the creation of highly sophisticated digital video surveillance technologies. I have described below why consider digital security cameras a boost to everyone’s security.

Digital security cameras are designed to monitor in real-time everything in your home, office, your business whenever and wherever you are. Most of the digital security cameras are IP cameras. They are capable to forward the recorded images and videos wireless or via fiber optics. Most of these devices are equipped with interfaces to connect to a network (your network) usually in the form of Fast Ethernet 0/0. This interface is then connected to some known network intermediary devices such as switches and routers to help your media files to transport to a specified network. This implementation I’ve described is not necessarily true to all digital camera technologies, but most likely, they are implemented in similar manner. Successful installations should include a pan-tilt-zoom digital security cameras mounted to some corners in your home, store or wherever that needs protection. In the same way, the recorded images and videos can then be streamed in real-time using laptop, PC, and PDAs as long as you are connected to that network. Moreover, output of digital security cameras gives you superior quality and with much details as compared to the analog-type of security cameras. Digital outputs are compressible giving you more space and takes only few minutes to save and transported to the net. The good thing also of digital security video cam is that the digital files or output are viewable to any digital-player using known formats.
